Can I extract text from a scanned PDF?

PDFPulp extracts embedded text from PDFs. Scanned documents that contain only images (no embedded text layer) require OCR (Optical Character Recognition), which is not currently supported. Most modern scanners add a text layer automatically.

Is the extracted text formatted?

The extracted text preserves the reading order and paragraph structure, but formatting like bold, italic, or columns may not be retained. The output is plain text optimized for copying and reuse.

Can I extract text from a specific page?

Currently, PDFPulp extracts text from all pages at once. To extract text from specific pages, use the Split PDF tool first to extract those pages, then run text extraction on the result.

Is there a page limit for text extraction?

No page limit — only the file size limit applies (100MB free, 500MB Pro). You can extract text from PDFs with hundreds of pages.

Do I need to install software?
